How Navi helps, the moment you ask

Two shortcuts, from any app. Navi works out what you meant and does it.

Click the bar and type your own. In the app, one call to a small decision model makes this choice in about a tenth of a second.

One bar,seven kinds of answer

You don’t pick a mode. Navi decides whether you meant something to open, a sum, a question, a job, a meeting, a reminder or a memory.

Open“maps”

Opening things is instant.

Apps, files, folders, System Settings panes and toggles like Dark Mode match as you type, from an index on your Mac. Those rows appear before any server has answered, so ⏎ never waits. Every list also offers to ask Navi or search the web instead.

Tasks run in the app, behind your window.

Give it a job and Navi works out which app it needs, opens it in the background and goes step by step: find the contact, type the message. Sending is the one step it won’t take alone. That waits for you to press ⌘⏎.

Meetings, without the back-and-forth.

Type who and roughly when, and a card drops down with everyone on one timeline and three times you’re all free. ⏎ books it and sends the invites. It uses the Google, Exchange and iCloud calendars already on your Mac. If someone’s calendar isn’t shared with you, it shows the meetings you have in common.

A reminder is one sentence.

What happensafter you press ⏎

A fast model only makes choices and says how sure it is. A slower one only writes, and only when something needs writing. Everything else happens on your Mac.

You press ⏎. The local rows have been updating on every keystroke already.

  2. 0.10 sDecides

What is this? A task, 96% sure. It sends a message, so it will stop and ask before that part.

  3. 0.24 sDecides

Which app? Messages, not WhatsApp: it’s where you usually talk to Sam.

  4. 0.45 sYour Mac

Messages opens behind the window you’re in. Your cursor and focus don’t move.

  5. 0.72 sYour Mac

Reads the window as a list of controls and text, the way a screen reader would. No screenshot needed.

  6. 0.88 sDecides

Next move: start a new message.

  7. 1.08 sYour Mac

Types “sam” into the To: field, so Messages starts looking up contacts.

  8. 1.62 sYour Mac

Waits for the suggestions and picks the person, Sam Rivera, over the group chat that starts with the same name.

  9. 1.86 sDecides

Next move: type the message into the body.

  10. 2.36 sYour Mac

    Types “I’m 10 minutes late”.

  11. 2.62 sDecides

Next move would be Return, which sends. That can’t be undone.

  12. 2.74 sYour Mac

So it stops and asks: send this to Sam Rivera? ⌘⏎ sends it, ⌘⌫ doesn’t.

Timings are typical, not a benchmark.

Speech turns into text on your Mac. Only the words go anywhere, never the audio.
Acts while you talk
Each instruction starts as soon as it’s complete. Spotify is opening while you’re still saying the rest.
Ignores your speakers
Music, a video, Navi’s own answers: what your Mac plays is subtracted from the mic, so it never turns into a command.
Takes corrections
“No, I meant Thursday” replaces what’s running instead of queueing behind it. “Stop”, “undo” and “pause” work mid-task.
From anywhere
⌥Space starts and stops listening, in any app. Or leave it listening from login.

It works while you work

Tasks run in the app they need, behind the window you’re in. Your cursor stays put, your typing lands where you’re typing, and the window it worked in comes forward when it’s done.

activity: writing, coding · sensitive frames: 3 dropped

From a frame on your screen to a note on your disk

  1. 1Capture

A frame now and then, from the apps you haven’t excluded. Paused for an hour or a day in one click.

  2. 2Read

Text is read off the frame on your Mac. Passwords, and anything you’ve told it not to keep, like card numbers or IDs: the frame is dropped right here.

  3. 3Triage

A quick check: is this new, is it important, is it sensitive? Most frames stop here.

  4. 4Summarize

Only the moments that matter are summarized, from their text and up to two small screenshots, with personal details redacted before and after.

  5. 5Write

Plain Markdown notes in a folder you own, linked by people, projects and days. Open it in Obsidian and it’s a graph.

You decide what it may remember

Settings → Recall has a switch for each kind of personal detail. These are the defaults. For anything switched off, a check on your Mac runs before anything is sent anywhere, and the frame is dropped if it matches. A cleanup can also remove details that were saved before you changed your mind.

What stays on your Mac,and what doesn’t

Navi needs a server to decide and to write. Its servers pass requests on and keep your account and usage counts, not the content. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used to train models.

Never leaves your Mac

  • The index of your apps, files and settings, and the calculator
  • Turning your speech into text
  • Reading the text in a window, for tasks and for Recall
  • The check for personal details you’ve blocked, which runs before anything is sent
  • Your Recall notes: Markdown files in a folder you own
  • Task logs, if you turn them on for troubleshooting (kept 7 days, never uploaded)
  • Your last 50 searches, used to rank results

Sent, only to do what you asked

What you type or say
with the app you’re in and its window title, so Navi can tell what you mean and answer. Your selected text, clipboard or screen memories only when the question refers to them. Local results never wait for any of this.
During a task
the text and controls of the one app it’s working in, a step at a time, and sometimes a screenshot of that window.
With Recall on
up to a few thousand characters of a moment’s screen text, to judge whether it’s worth remembering; for the ones that are, that text and up to two small screenshots, to write the summary. Details you’ve blocked are removed first, and moments that show them are never sent at all.

Recall is off until you turn it on, skips password managers, private windows and anything you exclude, and keeps notes 30 days by default (7, 30, 90 days or forever). Settings → Privacy & Data deletes everything Navi has stored. Read the privacy policy
